Description:
The DI3301 Digital Input Module features three isolated channels that independently process field data. Each channel places the processed data into an array and transmits this array to the associated Main Processor (MP) upon request. The MPs then vote on the data before passing it to the application.
This module includes complete diagnostics for each channel, continuously verifying the system's ability to detect state transitions. If a fault is detected on any channel, the Fault indicator turns on, activating a system alarm. However, the Fault indicator identifies a fault in the channel, not the entire module. The DI module guarantees proper operation in the presence of a single fault and may continue operating properly even with multiple faults.
The DI3301 module supports a hot-spare module and is mechanically keyed to prevent improper installation in a configured baseplate. It can be used with the following baseplates:
- Model 2301: Used in typical applications.
- DI External Termination Baseplate: Used with Solid State Relay Input External Termination Panel in high-voltage applications, or Model 9573-610 DI Hazardous Location External Termination Panel.
