Description
The FS-USI-0001 communication module enables Ethernet and Serial communication with external devices such as Experion™ PKS and Safety Builder. It is installed in the Controller chassis and provides secure, isolated communication.
The module features galvanic isolation with the following specifications:
- ≥ 2.5 kVdc between the 5 Vdc and the Ethernet signal
- ≥ 1.5 kVdc between the Ethernet signal and the module casing
- ≥ 1.5 kVdc between the 5 Vdc and the module casing
Additionally, if a memory error occurs, the Quad Processor Pack will receive an interrupt signal. The module also performs power-up self-tests for hardware integrity, including:
- Processor address and data registers
- Local RAM
- Shared RAM
- Exception handling
- Software integrity
These self-tests help prevent the use of defective hardware or corrupted software.
