Model/Part Number 3500/22-01-00
Model Type Transient Data Interface Module

Description

The 3500 Transient Data Interface (TDI) serves as the interface between the 3500 monitoring system and GE’s System 1 machinery management software. It combines the functionality of the 3500/20 Rack Interface Module (RIM) with advanced data collection capabilities of a communication processor like TDXnet.

  • Primary Features:
    • Operates in the RIM slot of a 3500 rack, working in conjunction with M series monitors (e.g., 3500/40M, 3500/42M).
    • Continuously collects steady-state and transient waveform data, passing it through an Ethernet link to host software.
    • Static data capture is standard, while dynamic/transient data capture is available via an optional Channel Enabling Disk.
    • Acts as the communication processor within the 3500 rack, offering enhanced performance over previous communication processors.
    • The TDI is non-critical to the normal operation of the system, meaning it does not affect the proper functioning of the monitoring system.
    • Every 3500 rack requires either a TDI or RIM, always installed in Slot 1 (next to the power supplies).

For Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) configurations, the TDI includes additional functionality:

  • Performs monitor channel comparison, ensuring that the data from three redundant monitors is consistent.
  • If one monitor's output deviates from the others by a configured threshold, the TDI flags an error and records an event.
