Overview
The ABB CP-A RU Redundancy Unit is designed to ensure uninterrupted power supply for critical applications by establishing true redundancy. By decoupling two power supply units, it significantly enhances the reliability and availability of electrical systems.

Applications
The CP-A RU is ideal for applications requiring uninterrupted power in case of power supply faults, such as incorrect wiring, blown fuses, or single power supply failure. By automatically switching to a redundant power supply and decoupling the failed unit, the CP-A RU ensures reliable power for critical loads.
Operating Mode
Parallel operation decouples primary and redundant power supplies to provide uninterrupted power. In the event of a fault, it automatically switches to the redundant power supply. For increased reliability, the primary and redundant power supplies should be connected to separate input voltage phases to reduce risks from primary-side fuse failures.
